Mirth shares information within our own company, following HIPAA guidelines. We also share information with your providers in order to support your care needs. Security and Confidentiality We afford the same degree of confidentiality to medical information stored on MyChart as is given to medical information stored in any other medium. We are committed to protecting the confidentiality of this medical information. We limit employees' access and ability to enter or view information based upon their role in your care. Firewalls, passwords, encryption, and audit trails are further used to safeguard your information. Communication We will use our best efforts to provide a timely response to inquiries. In some cases, the staff that needs to respond to an inquiry or other communication may not be immediately available. Please allow at least one (1) business day for a response. In case of an emergency situation requiring immediate attention, call 911. Messages regarding your health information may be left as a message on your phone, texted to your phone, or sent to your e-mail address. Any person with access to your phone or e-mail account will be able to see this message. This may be information that a patient or a proxy would not want others to know. Please take this into account when providing contact information to us and when sharing your access codes with others. Please know that if you communicate with us, it may be shared with your provider(s) to better provide medical care. Other companies for identity verification We share your information to protect you from fraud, authenticate your identity, protect your financial accounts and authorize transactions. When we share with companies like your bank for this purpose, we require them to use it only for the intended purpose and to protect it consistent with this notice. Other companies or entities where authorized or required by law Notify, respond, or provide information (including location) to an appropriate governmental entity in emergency circumstances such as immediate danger of death or serious physical injury. Provide or obtain information related to payment for your service. Ensure network operations and security, defend against legal claims and enforce our legal rights. Your privacy choices and controls We do not sell your personal information. Access and Portability: If you want to see the personal information we’ve collected, you can ask us for it. We will describe the categories of information we collect, the specific pieces we’ve collected, the sources of the information, the purposes for collecting or sharing it, and the categories of other companies with whom we shared it. We set our retention periods based on things like what type of personal information it is, how long it’s needed to operate the business or provide our products and services, and whether it’s subject to contractual or legal obligations.
